Introduction
The Wasatch church of Christ is located in Clearfield, Utah at the foot of the Wasatch Mountain Range. The
congregation came together in 1962 for the purpose of worshipping God according to His instructions given for
the New Testament church. We are autonomous and report to no central headquarters or board of directors.
There are no lists of rules and regulations added to the scriptures.

Our Name
We have no name other than that of the One who is the head of the church (Col. 1:18), and who purchased it
with His blood (Acts 20:28). This is Christ's church, and was established in 33 AD during the 1st Pentecost
after the crucifixion of Jesus. Jesus built this church (Mat. 16:18). It is the body of Christ (Eph. 1:22-23, Col.
1:18,24). There is only one God, one Christ, one body, and one church. However, there have been many false
teachers who have secretly brought in destructive doctrines exploiting people with deceptive words. Many have
followed their destructive ways (2 Peter 2:1-3).

The scriptures expressly state that in latter times some will depart from the faith listening to false doctrines,
and believing lies that tickle their ears (1 Timothy 4:1-3). But Christ's church still exists today, just like it was
when the Lord first gave it. We are a part of that church.

About the Bible
The entire Holy Bible is the inspired word of God, and the only inspired word of God. The Old Testament gives
us history and shows how God dealt with man. We learn from these examples, but we are not bound by its
teaching (animal sacrificing, temple worship, tithing, or any of the laws of Moses). We use the entire New
Testament for instruction today without adding or omitting anything. We speak where the Bible speaks, and
where the Bible is silent, we remain silent. The Bible equips us for every good work (2 Tim. 3:16-17). We do
not need and do not use any other book, manual, or creed to make us complete spiritually.

The Church Structure
The church structure is according to scripture with elders (Acts 14:23) as overseers of the congregation (Acts
20:28), deacons (1 Tim. 3:8-12, Phil. 1:1) in the service of the church (Acts 6:1-8), and an evangelist or
preacher (2 Tim. 4:5, Acts 21:8). Our worship service on the first day of every week begins with prayer and
singing. No musical instruments are included (Eph. 5:19, Col. 3:16) since they are not specified by the New
Testament scriptures. We partake of the Lord's Supper (Luke 22:19-20, 1 Cor. 10:16, 11:23-26) every Sunday
(Acts 20:7) followed by preaching from God's word (2 Tim. 4:2, Acts 8:4-5).

The Offering
During the service we take up a collection to further the work of the church. The only guide for giving is found in
the New Testament. (1 Cor. 16:2, 2 Cor. 9:7, 2 Cor. 8:11-12). This is what we adhere to.

Becoming a Member
In order for people to enter the Kingdom of God (Acts 2:37-38), they must first hear the word of God. They then
must believe that Jesus is the Son of God, and repent of their sins. They must confess before men that Jesus
is the Son of God, and then be immersed in water for the remission of their sins. We practice baptism by
immersion since this is what the word actually means. This also was the form practiced by the first century
churches. No one can join our church. God adds them after their obedience to his command of repentance
and baptism (Acts 2:38, 41,47).

Our Purpose
It is our desire to introduce people to the church and spread the gospel. We teach biblical principles (Mat.
22:36-39), exhorting one another (Col. 3:16). We hope you can learn from the information provided in this site,
and find rest for your soul. Our Lord's way is easy and the burden light (Mat. 11:28-30).
